Beverly Bootstraps Programs & Services

At Beverly Bootstraps, we’re committed to meeting the evolving needs of our community by connecting individuals and families with vital resources and support. Our Case Managers are here to assist with applications for programs such as LIHEAP (fuel assistance), SNAP (food benefits), and other resources. We also offer financial assistance for rent or utilities to eligible households, as well as resource guides for housing, referrals, and other essential services. These services are available to Beverly, Manchester, Essex, Hamilton and Wenham residents.

Client Update Forms

Client update forms are required to participate in any seasonal program. Please bring your completed Client Update Form with you on the day of distribution. Copies are also available at our front desk at 35 Park Street.

Food Assistance Programs

Food Pantry

Clients are welcome to visit the Food Pantry once every 7 days to choose from a variety of fresh produce, proteins, pantry staples, and more. The pantry is restocked regularly, so visiting later in the day may help you avoid lines. Please bring proof of residence in Beverly, Manchester, Essex, Hamilton, or Wenham (mail postmarked within the last 30 days).

New Client Food Pantry Registration Times:

  • Monday: 9:15 am – 10:15 am and 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 12:15 pm – 1:15 pm and 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 9:15 am – 10:15 am and 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Thursday: 9:15 am – 10:15 am and 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

To sign up for our Food Pantry, please print our Food Pantry intake form and bring completed forms with you.

Food Pantry Hours of Operation:

  • Monday: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Thursday: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

What to Bring: Please bring proof of residence (such as a piece of mail postmarked within the last 30 days) from one of the following communities: Beverly, Manchester, Essex, Hamilton, or Wenham.

Refrigerated Food Lockers

Automated Refrigerated Food Lockers provide more convenient food for anyone in need. Food-insecure community members living in Beverly, Manchester, Hamilton, Wenham, and Essex are able to pick up food they’ve ordered online through Beverly Bootstraps’ SmartChoice system with 24-hour access to the lockers located in two convenient locations within in Beverly.

Free, Fresh Produce at Mobile Market

Beverly Bootstraps hosts free Mobile Markets at local farmer’s markets, providing eligible households with fresh fruits and vegetables to promote better health and nutrition.

Participants can select free, fresh produce delivered directly to their neighborhood. These markets serve residents of local housing complexes and senior citizens who live in Beverly.

Thanksgiving Meals

Beverly Bootstraps provides Fixin’s for the Feast bags—filled with all the traditional Thanksgiving fixin’s—to help our neighbors enjoy a nourishing holiday meal. In addition to a pre-packed bag of Thanksgiving essentials, clients also receive a grocery store gift card to help complete their feast.

Free community meal Sites in Beverly

The Beverly community embraces those in need of a meal by providing a free dinner every night of the week. In partnership with Root, we support local churches and groups by offering and helping serve a free meal, fostering community and nourishment.

*You do not need to be a Beverly resident to attend these community meals.

Senior Lunches

Please reserve your lunch by 10:00 a.m. the day before

Community Dining Rooms serve lunch Monday through Friday, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Please contact your dining room for specific schedule information and to reserve your lunch.

Adult Education programs

Our Adult Education programs are designed to be accessible and practical, empowering students to build new skills, enhance job opportunities, and boost their earning potential.

We provide personalized tutoring to help students earn their High School Equivalency certificate and offer English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes to enhance communication skills. In addition, we help young adults and adults develop realistic plans for their future through our College and Career Readiness program.

Client Support Services

Our Case Management Team helps individuals and families navigate tough situations by connecting them with the resources they need.

After assessing each client’s financial and living circumstances, Case Managers provide personalized support to access essentials like food, housing, heat, utilities, clothing, and household goods. They also assist with applying for government benefits and help create action plans that guide clients toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

For those who qualify, Beverly Bootstraps and its IRS-trained staff and volunteers prepare tax returns for low-income families and individuals at no cost.

Back-to-school backpack program

Do you need help affording back-to-school supplies?

For over 21 years, Beverly Bootstraps’ Back-to-School Backpack Program has ensured that local children head into the school year feeling confident, prepared, and supported. By providing new backpacks filled with essential school supplies, this program eases the financial strain on families while setting students up for academic success.

This program is for residents of Beverly, Manchester, Hamilton, Wenham or Essex. Click learn more for the 2025 distribution dates.

Winter wishes holiday gift program

Do you need help with holiday gifts for your kids this year?

This community-supported holiday gift program helps provide your children in grades 12 and under with new clothes, games, and toys. Winter Wishes Holiday Gifts helps families living in Beverly, Manchester, Hamilton, Wenham, and Essex.

Registration opens Monday, September 15 for the 2025 Winter Wishes Holiday Gift program. Space is limited. Registration will close when all spots are full.

Calculating for Success

The calculator program is available to high school students within our service area, including Beverly, Essex, Hamilton, Manchester, Wenham areas.

Students enrolled in advanced math classes can apply for a free graphing calculator, ensuring they have the necessary tools to succeed in their coursework.

If students need help affording a graphing calculator, they should contact their math teacher at the start of the school year for assistance.
