Beverly Bootstraps Welcomes New Executive Director, Allison Caffrey

Sep 10, 2025 | Beverly Bootstraps, Community

Beverly Bootstraps is pleased to announce the appointment of Allison Caffrey as its new Executive Director. Allison brings to the role a deep commitment to strengthening communities by addressing food insecurity and expanding access to critical resources.

Most recently, Allison served as Executive Director of Root in Salem, Massachusetts, where she led efforts to empower young adults through workforce development and food service training. There, she witnessed firsthand how access to food and opportunity can transform lives, deepening her passion for ensuring no one goes without the essentials needed to thrive.

The Beverly Bootstraps Board of Directors played an active role in the search and is enthusiastic about her appointment.

“I am delighted to welcome Allison to Beverly Bootstraps,” said Marilyn Schlein Kramer, President of the Board of Directors. “Allison has a deep commitment to our mission of providing resources and opportunities to families and individuals so they may achieve self-sufficiency. She is an experienced leader who will support our staff and volunteers.”

With nearly two decades of nonprofit leadership experience, Allison brings expertise in fundraising, program strategy and development, and cultivating donor and partner relationships. She has successfully secured institutional support and designed programs that drive both measurable impact and long-term sustainability. A lifelong resident of Andover, Allison holds degrees from Dartmouth College and Harvard University, as well as a certificate in nonprofit leadership from Tufts University.

Beverly Bootstraps provides food assistance, housing stability resources, education, and other essential supports for individuals and families in Beverly, Manchester, Essex, Hamilton, and Wenham. As food and housing costs continue to rise, demand for its services—particularly the food pantry—has grown significantly in the past year.

“I’m incredibly impressed and inspired by Beverly Bootstraps’ work and mission,” Allison shared. “The services and support they provide are now more important than ever, and I am honored and excited to work with the board, team, and volunteers to steward this vital community organization into its next chapter.”
