Meeting Communities Where They Are

Mobile Market serves as a gateway to services

Last summer, Fatima*, a newly immigrated single mother of four, came to our Mobile Market looking for fresh food for her family. While there, she learned about Beverly Bootstraps’ English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program. She wanted to enroll, but without reliable transportation, getting to class felt out of reach. Still, the opportunity stayed with her, and a few months later, she reached out to enroll.

“I came to get food for my family, and I found so much more. I found a place that could help me learn, grow, and build a better future for my children.”

Today, Fatima is a dedicated student whose teachers describe her as hardworking, motivated, and deeply committed to improving her English. Fatima’s experience is a reminder of what can happen when we meet people where they are.

The Mobile Market removes barriers to food access by bringing nutritious groceries directly into neighborhoods through convenient, familiar community spaces, including local parks, affordable housing centers, and senior housing communities throughout Beverly. Each distribution delivers hundreds of pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to children, older adults, and families who may face challenges accessing traditional food resources. But the impact can extend far beyond the groceries.

For neighbors like Fatima, a Mobile Market visit can open the door to much more than fresh food. It can be the first connection to programs, resources, and opportunities that help individuals and families regain stability and move toward self-sufficiency.

Your support makes these connections possible. A donation helps bring nutritious food directly into neighborhoods while creating opportunities for neighbors to discover the education, guidance, and services they need to build a stronger future. Please consider making a gift today so we can continue meeting people where they are and helping more neighbors find their path forward.
