Beverly Bootstraps expands service area

Aug 2, 2021 | Beverly Bootstraps Blog, Client Services, Donors

On July 1, Beverly Bootstraps expanded its reach and now serves Essex, Hamilton and Wenham in addition to Beverly and Manchester.

This decision was part of their ongoing strategic plan. Serving Hamilton and Wenham was a natural progression since Beverly Bootstraps was already collaborating with Acord Food Pantry to offer case management services there. The addition of Essex allows Beverly Bootstraps to jointly serve Manchester and Essex which share a school system starting in middle school. Incorporating both towns allows for services to begin with younger families and continue as the children grow.

The first program being introduced to these new towns is the Back-to-School Backpack Program. In its 20th year, the program provides new backpacks filled with school supplies to students.

For existing clients of Beverly Bootstraps, nothing will change. Clients will continue to receive services and have access to the Food Pantry as before. In addition, Food Pantry hours expanded on Aug. 2 to provide easier access for all clients. Current and past clients are encouraged to help spread the word to other families in these towns that might benefit from Beverly Bootstraps assistance.

A leading social service agency on the North Shore, Beverly Bootstraps offers clients assistance with their basic needs, including access to food and housing stability.

Case managers help with applications for SNAP benefits, utility assistance, counseling, advocacy and more. In an effort to increase clients’ earning potential, they offer adult education classes, and to help families with children on tight budgets, several seasonal programs, including holiday gifts, are available.
